Krista L. Allison J.D.

"There is no place like home!" These iconic words spoken by Judy Garland in the 1939 classic film The Wizard of Oz accurately summarizes Krista L. Allison's belief about Stark County and has motivated her to seek your support for election to the 49th District seat of the Ohio House of Representatives.

Krista earned her PHD (Perry High School diploma) and then earned her bachelor's degree at Baldwin-Wallace University and law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She married her college sweetheart, Adrian (25 years and counting), and spent the next decade in Columbus, Ohio, developing her skills as a change agent, community collaborator, and servant leader.

It was during this time while working for the state of Ohio as an Executive Director at the Ohio Department of Education, she saw firsthand how the state government operated. More importantly, she realized that she could make a difference! She advocated before members of the Ohio General Assembly for support for Ohio's schools. She spoke one-on-one with the governor about policies that could make Ohio a national leader in the support of children and families.

After making a difference at the state level, Krista and her family moved back to Stark County because "There is no place like home!". She led the Stark County CARE Team, which offers interventions and support to at-risk youth in our community. She then successfully oversaw the Office of Student, Family and Community Support for the Canton City School District.

There is no place like home!

As a servant leader, Krista gives her time, talents and treasure throughout the community. She serves on the boards of Malone University, YMCA of Central Stark Ohio, Stark County Urban League, Greater Canton Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, and the Stark Library Foundation; She is a regular volunteer at the Faith Kitchen Food bank Ministry hosted at the Crystal Park United Methodist Church. Since 2020, she has been a lead facilitator for the Dismantling Racism Coalition of Stark County.

Eight years ago, Krista started and continues to lead a women's Bible study group (God's Opportunity ~ GO!). She is an active member of her church (Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church) and leads the annual Jerusalem Gives Back! community outreach day. She is the Social Action Chair of her sorority (Stark County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated) and is also a member of the Kent Area (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated (one of the nation's oldest and largest volunteer service organizations). She is an Institute for Educational Leadership Policy Fellow, Ohio Early Childhood Leadership Fellow, and a member of Leadership Stark County's 35th Class Signature Program.

Krista has lived in Jackson Twp. for nearly a decade and enjoys hanging out with her early morning workout friends at the Paul and Carol David YMCA or walking the "blue track". She is proud of her two daughters, both of whom are graduates of Canton McKinley High School and are now pursuing higher education degrees. Krista was the president of the McKinley Choir Parents Association and supported the McKinley Forensic Team, on which her daughters excelled as state and national Speech and Debate finalists.

Krista knows that Stark County is a unique and special place with special people who are proud of their home. She knows, however, that, like any home, improvements are necessary to ensure they last for the next generation. As your Representative in the Ohio House, her mission will be to make sure that every citizen in Ohio District 49 truly believes that… There is no place like home!
